After years of stonewalling by the Obama Administration, the Keystone Pipeline is finally moving forward and Senator Tammy Baldwin has suddenly developed an interest in the 42,000 jobs the pipeline would create. Baldwin wants the federal government to mandate that the components of the pipeline be made with American steel.
Funny, Baldwin didn’t seem care about those jobs when she voted to kill the Keystone Pipeline in 2014 or 2015. And she didn’t say a word about federal dollars flowing to foreign companies and workers when she voted for the $787 billion Stimulus Bill. Nor did Baldwin seem particularly bothered that the stimulus never created the 70,000 Wisconsin jobs promised by Democrats.
Baldwin can send press releases and tour manufacturing plants when she’s back in Wisconsin, but her votes to oppose projects like the Keystone Pipeline speak volumes about her actual commitment to job creation and the American economy.
